New EP Collide Out July 1st

It’s been a long time coming now, so I’m very excited to announce the release of our brand new EP – Collide – on July 1st. Having spent so long writing material for the new album, it’s great to be able to start revealing this for you all. Collide is the first taste of new music showing what’s to follow later this year when the album finally hits stores.

Collide is comprised of 3 tracks – Unstoppable, The Sun and Collide. Unstoppable provides the first insight into our forthcoming debut album, whilst The Sun has been re-vamped and re-recorded, giving the track a more polished and full sound. Finally, Collide is a B-Side that didn’t quite make the album, but is still a track that I love. I feel it shows a very different side of The Polysonic, with a much more minimalistic and soft feel to the track.

In case you missed this announcement last month, we’ll be spending the rest of this year hitting stages and playing shows across the UK. We’ve spent the majority of the year so far in rehearsal studios putting together the live show so we can get out there and play this music for you. I’m lucky to be playing beside some amazing musicians who are helping to make this dream a reality. Our confirmed dates so far are:

June 28th – Purple Turtle, Reading

June 29th – The Islington, London

July 13th – Rising Sun Arts Centre, Reading

Keep checking the tour page for more dates as we announce them.

Collide will be available from all major digital retailers on July 1st, and will also be available on CD at our upcoming gigs. We’ll release more details very soon.

We hope you’re ready to make some noise about this EP. We need your help – share it with friends, send it to your favourite blogs, or even contact a local promoter and encourage them to book us so that we can come and play for you. This would all be a great help to us in spreading the word about this release ahead of our album.

Once again, we’d like to thank you for your continued support as we head into this new chapter of The Polysonic. There are plenty of new tracks coming later in the year and lots of debauchery to be caused at shows, so we hope you’ll stick by us.

In the mean time, here’s another track from the new album for you to get your teeth stuck in to – Say Something

Coming To A Stage Near You

I’ve been doing The Polysonic for just over four years now. The last three of those years I’ve been running the project on my own – writing, recording and performing all the tracks myself. Now though, with new releases ready to go, it’s time to do something I’ve wanted to do since I started the project, but never had the opportunity.

I’ve always pictured this as a full band and being able to hit the road and play shows, to bring a live element to The Polysonic along with the recorded side. So I’m happy to announce – I now have a band! I’m very pleased to welcome Chaz Foster (guitar), Sam McCarthy (bass) and Ryan Lavender (drums), who are the incredibly talented musicians that are helping me make this dream a reality. For the last few months we’ve been behind the doors of a rehearsal studio working on the best live show we possibly can, and soon we will be taking it to the stage.

It’s now time to get The Polysonic rolling again. There’s going to be plenty of announcements to make over the coming months, so to keep up with everything, make sure you sign up to the mailing list and we’ll keep you informed – and don’t forget to keep an eye on the Tour page for upcoming shows in your area.

See you down the front!

Something A Little Different

Just to shake things up a bit so you don’t get too bored of the original->remix->original->remix routine, here’s a track I recorded guest vocals on last year, which has just been released.

Last year I kept myself busy, working on the new album and remixing, but in between this I tried to do as much as I possibly could – mixing bands, producing for other artists, and even doing features on tracks. I was approached by my friend, a French electropop producer named MJFP, who had recorded a new song and asked if I would lay some vocals down on it. I had worked with MJFP previously, but it never came to light, so I’m glad to say that last month the track, Lose My Mind, was released under the name of MJFP’s collaboration with McArthy, O’Rage.
